Brusnik

Brusnik

The island of Brusnik, black, hard as granite, volcanic dolerite in origin, lies 1 nm from the island of Sv. Andrija and 8 nm from the island of Vis. The shallows at 20 m are about 300 m south of the island and drop to 60 m to create an amazing wall. The seabed is soft, covered in white sand, in contrast to the island’s dark cliffs.
Diving tips
Anchoring is out at sea at a depth of 20 m. The dive is along the anchoring line to shallows and then an exploration of the wall. Strong currents prevail but with excellent visibility.

This site abounds in life; aside from damselfish, cuckoo wrasse, sea fans, red gorgonians and the rare piper gurnard, a species endemic to the Mediterranean, Eunicella sea fans, John Dories and dentex are also found here.
