Pržina Beach
Pržina Beach
What does the word “pržina” mean? “Pržina” is the Lumbarda word for sand. That speaks for itself.
The beach is protected from the northern winds, and the shallow cove faces the south allowing pleasant bathing in the pre-season and often until the second half of November. Pržina is a very popular and well-visited beach, therefore it is sometimes overcrowded and it can be difficult to find a place. Both tourists and the local population like Pržina, and everyone comes to the beach for fun and socialising. There are two bars on the beach and you can also hire sunshades and sun loungers. Not only guests from Lumbarda come to the beach, it is also popular amongst tourists from the whole of the island of Korčula.
In the past Pržina was only a beach for nudists, however, today nudists come to the rocky part of the cove. Nudists enjoy the crystal-clear water and the privacy with a view of the full beach, which is close to everything, yet at the same time far away from everyone. On the rocky part of the beach there are parts with natural shade under pine trees, and the sunsets from this part of the cove are beautiful. Right next to the beach there is a large car park so Pržina is very easy to get to by car.
