Pasjača Beach
Pasjača Beach
Pasjača beach is situated in the Konavle municipality, below the village of Popovići, about 30 km south of Dubrovnik and 12 km from the town of Cavtat chosen as one of the 10 European Best Destinations for 2019.
Pasjača beach represents the harmony between man and nature. It was created in 1955, after the construction of a tunnel leading to the sea. The excavated rocks were left on the shore, and in only a few years the waves transformed them into a beach filled with fine sand. This is the origin of the beautiful beach at the foot of the majestic cliffs of Konavle, which has been named the best European beach of 2019 by the European Best Destinations portal.
You need to take a steep path and steps carved into the cliffs to get to the beach, and in some places the path also leads you through carved tunnels. This tiny, difficult-to-reach oasis and the turquoise sea at the foot of the harsh cliffs of Konavle offer plenty of beautiful viewpoints that will make for wonderful photographs. It is no surprise then that #Pasjača is often trending on social media sites.
There are no amenities at Pasjača beach, making it perfect for those who are looking for a quiet place to relax, surrounded by beautiful nature and crystal-clear sea.
However, since there is a difference in elevation of about 200 m between the cliffs and the beach, getting in and out is an adventure in and of itself, so a visit to Pasjača is not recommended to those who may have difficulty with this kind of steep climb.
